Hello all,

 

just wondering if anyone has done this and if so what they were using, only in a primary school so dont have mass's of money, currently have a digital camcorder and a copy of pinicle studio but just wondered if it was possible to do a live chroma key effect? Acouple of kids have ask me if they can do a weather report just wondered how best to do it?

In general if you're doing chromakey live you'd be doing it through a vision mixer or a DVE unit rather than through a PC. I can't think of any non education type situations where you would need that facility on a PC.

 

Might be worth trying to scrounge/borrow a vision mixer with Chromakey (aka CSO in some circles) built in?

You can do bluescreen for Free in Windows Movie Maker. It's not live though and it is a little fiddly but our year 6 managed it fine last year.

 

This year we're using iMovie 09. As much as I hate to say it, it's a corker of an app.

would have liked it to be live, but it doesnt have to be, i have 5 mac books with imovie and a couple of desktops with pinnicle studios on, i will just use them to best i can. Cheers guys.
