Will it look 'smudged' as the hair follicles are quite pronounced on the outside of the forearms. It's only going to be a small tattoo - covering an area about 4cm x 1cm.

How hairy is hairy? It will give the effect that it is smudged and blurry if you are talking extremely hairy.

If you're that hairy that you wouldn't be able to see the tattoo anyway, I wouldn't bother...

If you go to a reputable place they will tell you most are really very good they don't want their work to look rubbish you're a walking advert.

Dark hair would most definately make it look all kafuzzled. I would tattoo people with dark thick hair though, as I'm sure most tattoo parlours would too. Fair enough he would be a walking advert but if anyone got close enough to ask where he had it done, they'd also be close enough to see it was a good job.

Depends on the design too - if its an old school style image, the tattooist would most likely use a thick lining needle, to give it the chunky look

whereas a more modern tattoo would likely have thinner lines and be harder to make out.

Be careful getting a tattoo done though, it can be very addictive! I currently have one pretty much filling my upper right arm, a smaller one at the top of my left arm and now I constantly look out for idea's of what to have done next...

Sleeves look good too. Wish I had the money to do it, and I can't do it myself for obvious reasons (how do you tattoo your right arm when you are right handed?)
