Is your learning platform Open Source?

I am interested in looking at how many schools actively use Open Source software. So I am starting this poll to see how many schools use OSS for their Learning Platform.

 

We use Moodle running on Linux for our learning platform and link in with our Serco MIS and Windows servers (for authentication and home drive access). See Houghton Kepier Learning Platform | Open Source Schools for more.

 

There are only 2 options in the poll If you use a "free" learning platform, please answer No. As in theory sharepoint is free, but only if you have server CALs etc.

 

Please also use this thread to talk about any other open source software you use in school.

You will probably have people discuss the differences between Virtual Learning Enviroment and Virtual Learning Platform, as the two aren't always the same product - but for the purpose of voting - Moodle for me too. Currently exploring SharePoint which may run alongside / with etc.

Our VLE is OpenSource (moodle) but the server its running on aint (Windows Server 2008 R2)

Moodle here on two linux boxes .... Apache and mySQL seperated onto two sep boxes

Open Source? Hah, I wish, we use Frog, the most closed source system you'll ever lay eyes on, bar possibly Sharepoint (at least you can have root to a Sharepoint system).
