OutToLunch Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Afternoon - bit random this... Has anyone come across any software installed on their network for teaching kids to tell the time/date, read a calendar, match 24hr with 12hr clock etc? Possibly one for the primary IT staff although this is intended for a pupil with specific needs in a SEN school... Any ideas much appreciated I've found some of greyolltwit.com's freeware which is a start for the times part but I could do with something nice for the date/calendar side of things. Cheers!
apoth0r Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Hey mate, Although a pretty awful piece of software aesthetically, Number Shark was the software of choice a couple of years ago for Math related SEN ICT provision. I had a group in the suite working on the time specific section and it was quite successful, the repetition aided retention. If I'm honest I can't think of any other software titles that I have used. Sherston always seem to put in a good showing for SEN though. 1
OutToLunch Posted March 11, 2010 Author Posted March 11, 2010 Thanks for that - we do have Number Shark here, never thought to look on that for anything date/time related. Not sure if it's actually working at the moment (or ever was properly) but at least I have a reason to fix it rather than just swear at it now
Jon Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 We use a programme here called Talking Clocks, it is by topologika Talking Clocks PLUS - helping pupils tell the time It seems to do the job and I think the teachers quite like it. 1
Andie Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 We also use Talking Clocks from Topologica. Includes digital and analogue clocks, which is useful. Not sure about the dates bit though. 1
