Windows Sever 2003 R2 Quota

molesm - I turned my Quota's off in R2 and went back to good old NTFS quota's

 

Mainly as it took forever to bring up the quota list [i.e. incase i needed to give a quick adjust to a quota etc] whereas the NTFS system is very quick and did the job.

 

Once i get the funds to "beef up" the server some more - it has a lot to do I guess - I'll try it again.

 

Wish I could help with what options to switch on, but I thought that the reporting side of things was broken on it until a recent fix.

 

I say this mainly as I've had it set to email myself with reports on the file retention filtering which just suddenly one day started happening.

 

And that was after a few WSUS-given updates so make sure your server's are fully patched too

I am working on a solution involving a client/server approach. Anyone fancy helping in the very early stages add me to MSN and give me a buzz. Not sure on programming languages that I will use but thats kinda to fit the solution then anything. I really need some people to at least run theories past before I implement (and I am to shy to show my foolishness off in forums before thinking it through).
