rama1712 Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Hi all, We have install Moodle onto our network and done all the TEch bit needed to get it to work, what we need know are course content that we can show staff/Managment. As we are not teachers I was hoping that some of you guys out there might have some courses that we can use to try and launach our moodle to to Staff and get there juices following and hopefully get them to design courses for there subjects. Any courses we might get we will remove if you request us to do after we have demoed to staff. Subjects we would like would be ICT- any ECDL Courses, We all ready have the Dida courses Any uptodate General ICT Courses that covers general ICT in all KS3 RE - This subject is going to be our Launch Subject as we are a Humanties Specialist College we thought this would be a good Subject to use and there have provide some powerpoints to go on VLE We will take any other subject but the above 2 are our main ones we are working with. Thanks in advance Stuart Purvis ICT TECH(General Dogs Body)
GrumbleDook Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Welcome Stuart I would strongly suggest you pop over to Dagza's website as he has a number of prepared resources. I would also dig around the archives of the Moodle discussions ... a number of regulars have offered resources on there too ... HTH HAND
rama1712 Posted November 6, 2006 Author Posted November 6, 2006 Have all Ready done that main one after is ECDL
fooby Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 What you might find is that many of the teachers will take the "more work" attitude and not do it, you might get 3 or 4 teachers take part. We here however have a pro-ict head and director of ict that puts in training sessions that all staff can attend. It is in the development plans that all teachers aim to get courses to the vle also. Unless they are pushed towards it i don't know that you will get many staff take up. Still, this is my opinion of what i have seen in this college here, yours may be different. fooby
Ric_ Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Also check out the thread at http://edugeek.net/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=3761 (including the wiki page on there)
mighty.grey.eagle Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 CLEO are producing sample courses at the moment - mainly so that they can be used for training and bringing staff on board. Perhaps your broadband consortia could be persuaded to join together with CLEO. That way everyone gains.
MkII Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Yes - we have a free CD of resources from NorthernGfL - you can see them all (open access) at http://www.newtown-hs.powys.sch.uk/moodle
CyberNerd Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 @mark Where can I get access to the NGfL moodle cd courses? they look good, but not good enough to move up north. Whats the license on them, any chance of a download?
GrumbleDook Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 They are free ... you just have to order the CD and pay P&P.
MkII Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 They're all free - just apply for the resources online - somewhere... Pack of CDs and DVDs - all very nice stuff It's all here somewhere: http://www.cleo.net.uk/index.php?category_id=264 Perhaps someone from Lancs who won't lose their job for telling us will help!
