We have an issue with how the students are logging off pc's, with the XP machines it's not been too much of an issue, bar the occasional broken profile but now we are moving to Windows 7 it's becoming a bigger problem.

Rather than going to start and logoff then press ctrl-alt-del and hit enter twice and walk off. Now as i say on XP this then logs them off, mostly, but with windows 7 it locks the pc. By the end of the day we have can have 5+ users logged on to each pc.

I could disable ctrl-alt-del but that will mean loosing it off the logon screen too, anyone have any suggestions how the best way around this? Any yes we have been trying to educate them for years on how to log off.

We use group policy to disallow workstation locking for students.

and then the ctrl alt del takes them straight to log off rather then lock workstation so they can still do the ctrl alt del enter enter

they still need ctrl+alt+delete for change password option ( obviously ) and the gpo option afaik only greys out / disables the lock workstation option for students assuming you lock them out of that option.

I dont allow students to change their own password as they would be changing each others password when they leave a machine for a second and it would cause loads of work.
