I may be trying to achieve the impossible here - but I would like to give it a try! I have Logic Pro here, which I need to install on a set of PCs in music, including all the audio content (yup, 60GB or so of it). Is it possible to copy the .pkg files from the DVDs onto the shared area on my Mac server, then install it over the network either using Deploystudio or just connecting to the share? If so, how?

You can use something like installease or casper composer to make a package from a Logic install.

Installease is free, more info on how it works and download from here Package Building: Absolute Manage - Automated Client Management for Mac and Windows Computers and Software

Casper Composer isn't free, details here

JAMF Software: Products - Composer

Both apps are part of larger suites, that allow management of OS X clients, software updates, licence management that kind of thing.

The installer you create can then be deployed using Apple Remote Desktop or deploystudio.

Great stuff, looks like something I can get on with! My server is headless atm so I can't install Logic on it to use that (not that it would be a great plan anyway) but I'll use a client to try to dump the package across. Cheers!
