CyberNerd Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 A scary thought really ... almost pushing towards a single forest for a county and domains within that ... food for thought. so BSF rears it's head again. After all it's the most effective way MS partners can push their wares.
GrumbleDook Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 They have ... but not for the SSAT Select Agreement ... you can order now but delivery will be a week or 3 (please do not hold me to the delivery date .. I am not a Ramesys / Royal Mail / ParcelForce employee and can make no guarantee about when something will actually reach you!)
john Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 I feel that we get mixed messages from Ramesys, or my brain was mush, as I mentioend office to them yesterday as I have all my licences for office under SA, so just need new media and a code, and it was oh no media yet for that at all, no sign probably late December again. Grrr! So they have office 2007, so I should be able to get my copy of that ordered then (I am via the SSAT Select licence) and start working out the new deployment tools for that. Vista you say is a way away, can we find out what the delay is as surely it cannto be a big delay on it, its there, I assume its just keys for the activation system thats the issue? As for the activation, I don't have 25 machines on my LAN that are licenced with my Ramesys agreement (only got 20!) so I need to activate each one by one But hey ho, could be much worse I suspect!
mrforgetful Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 I have received an email from Microsoft about saying there is no reason that under a School Select Agreement we should be denied access to the site. Dear Me, Thanks for your email. We have looked into this agreement and the agreement is in the name of Specialist Schools Trust. However the reseller of Ramesys, Mr has been set up as the Notice Contact for this agreement. Please contact Mr in order to get access to this agreement. There should be no reason that nobody of your company can have access to this agreement (providing you are part of Specialist Schools Trust), whether it is an educational or standard select agreement. Please feel free to contact us should you have any further queries, we will be happy to assist you. With kind regards, Steven Kortmann Microsoft Volume Licensing Team [email protected] 0800 9179016 (UK customers) +49 69 2222 7435 (international)
GrumbleDook Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Please, please, please do not contat anyone other than the UK Edu team for information on licensing for schools ... there is no point ... the general licensing mob do not know what they are talking about as there are some special arangements created for UK schools .. such as the reduced price Select Agreement that Ramesys hold for Specialist Schools ... I did post the email address in a previous thread but for those that really want to speak to someone at Microsoft that understand Edu licensing then contact [email protected] . If you have any more queries about the SSAT Select Agreement then please use the above email address or contact Ramesys directly. They have been made aware that there are some queries and whilst there is no official statement my previous posts give the general idea of things ... *Please* do not ask for access to the download site for the SSAT Select Agreement ... you will not get it and it is not worth griping about. I would not want you to have access either as theooretically it could mean you could see exactly what I have been buying! Not forgetting that it will give you download access to *all* Microsoft software that Ramesys sell under that agreement ... including things you have not paid for ... now do people see why they do not give access to everyone? There are some special cases that have sub-sites of this ... if you are one of those schools you will already know about it. This has been an EduGeek information broadcast .. brought to you by the letter F, Y and I ... and the numbers 6, 6 and 6.
mrforgetful Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 In all fairness Groombledook I was trying to access the MVLS website before all this Ramesys enquiring as I read about the site and followed the websites help as back then it didn't seem to be a Ramesys issue just an internal school contact issue. Edulic was the first email I tried, who told me to try the MVLS email, who have now told me to contact someone at Ramesys who has now told me that another person will be contacting me to discuss. I'm sure there are some finite details why we aren't allowed to access the site, I'm just trying to get some concrete information directly from the people responsible for our our account so I can put it on file for future reference.
