Disable IE 7 Anti Philshing Protection.

Anyone know how to disable it? It's made redundant by the dansguardian web filter I have. Plus when it submits websites to the online Microsoft database theres a noticable slowdown.

There's an option in Tools somewhere - I have it at home and used the help to find it. At work at the mo using IE6 so can't be more specific - sorry.

I need to do this on a domain rather than an individual PC.

It looks like there is a GPO setting

 

Make sure you edit the GPO on a machine with IE7 installed, go to User Config, Internet Explorer. The setting is called "Turn off Managing Phishing Filter", enable it and set filter mode to Off.

 

That should do it

If I add IE7 specific GPO settings it wont affect IE6 installations will it?

No, any IE7 specific settings will be ignored on machines with IE6 on.

Yeah if you get the updated Internet Explorer adm off an IE7 machine from the INF folder, and update the server copy.

 

You can also turn off the annoyning welcome screen that welcomes new users!!

Sorry to have to bump this up. I've been looking for the "Turn off Managing Phishing Filter" and am unable to find it from the Domain Controller. It does not have IE7 and I can not install it on that OS.

 

I've Installed Administration Tools on my pc, and still can not find the option. perhaps my version of Group Policy is not current? Could somebody share the path to Disable the Phishing Filter.

IIRC, you need to download the ADM for IE7 and install it on your domain controller.

 

You should then be able to make the relevant changes.

You can also download the IE7 Administrators Toolkit which is used to set all the required settings and branding before you deploy IE7.
