kennysarmy Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 So I browse to My Network Places -> Entire Network -> Microsoft Windows Network and I see my domain listed PLUS another called "Workgroup"...? In workgroup are the following entries: Balcarras-simsg Brne02b6d Brne02b48 Brne51240 Ep08c94e EPbac6a7 Hpbalc Oem-9n19wpo230x ??? What are these and where did they come from? Many thanks for your response...
EduTech Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 They are just machines that may not be on your domain normally 3rd party hardware that has come in but did not need to be on the domain and likewise with printed. James posted via iPhone
jack0w Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Looks like a group of devices on your network that are part of the default workgroup. I think sometimes network printers can appear in this way too.
jack0w Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 Just checked - our XPe thin client appears in the default workgroup too along with all our network printers, cd server and clipbank server.
kennysarmy Posted February 23, 2010 Author Posted February 23, 2010 Thanks guys... so nothing to worry about.... phew - just don't like things that JUST appear....
rbance Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Could be any number of devices...I would probably want to know what they are though......
