Fixed my Guitar :)

All of you kind folks who expressed your sympathy for my poor guitar will be happy to hear that... I fixed it

 

Used some wood glue, Titebond Original, and had it in the jaws of a g-clamp for a week... the finish isn't bad, I managed to smooth it with some wet & dry paper and buffed it up using a pair of old pants and some lemon oil... you can still see the join from some angles but can't feel it when playing.

Shouldn't you also have used an A-clamp, D-clamp, B-clamp and a couple of E-claps?

If I ever break a string (very rare indeed) it will almost always be the G-string on my telecaster....

To be fair, now it's under tension I'm keeping an eye on it still in case there's any movement... got a gig on Saturday so should get its first outing then

If the Titebond doesn't hold use Gorilla Glue. A little bit more expensive but everything else will break before that gives up.

Thanks for the tip... I think if it got to that point I'd be reinforcing it with dowel too, but I think it's going to hold... there was plenty of surface area.
