LosOjos Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Can you be a little more specific? What existing connections are available on the speakers? Am I right in understanding you want to be able to connect a 3.5mm cable to the existing inputs on your speakers?
James2k Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 (edited) Do you mean you want a face plate. With a 3.5 jack (female) and on the back a lead with the 3.5 jack (male) ? Something like this? http://cpc.farnell.com/_/sg207-3/av-wallplate-vga-3-5mm-jack/dp/AV16622 Edited February 2, 2010 by James2k
Educare_AV Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 The cheapest way would be to buy 14 single gang blank face plates, then fit one of these in each. PRO SIGNAL|PSG01698|3.5MM JACK SOCKET, STEREO, BULKHEAD | CPC They are plug and play if you like no soldering required. Only thing to watch out for is the back box you install them into will need to be quite deep. If you need a hand with them give us a shout,
boogster Posted February 2, 2010 Author Posted February 2, 2010 Thanks for the feedback and James2k you were the closest to what I need. I will try to explain a little further... I require a faceplate with 1 x 3.5 jack (female) and on the back a cable with another 3.5 jack (female) that needs to be about 3m in length so I can run this up the trunking and attach to the 2.1 Logitech speakers (inc subwoofer) that has 1 x 3.5m jack (male) output. Thanks again
Educare_AV Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 I understand now, So really as long as you have a female 3.5mm jack on the front of the faceplate and on the rear a 3m cable leading to another female 3.5 jack socket. So it is not really a problem if the cable is soldered on the rear of the faceplate as long as it done for you. 1
James2k Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 (edited) Might be easier to make your own one up... only 3 wires that will need soldering? Either that or get a wall plate with the audio phono connections on with a long lead. With a 3.5 to phono lead at wall plate side then you can get phono to 3.5 (F) plug adapter for the other end? I had a look at the CablesToGo RapidRun system at BETT: RapidRun®: RapidRun, RapidRun Digital, audio, video, distribution, audio/video cables - Cables To Go -- David Hicks
