Hi all, I have an odd issue with PMP 7. It has recently started to add users without any group restrictions so they have unlimited printing. In the past it would add a new user according to the windows group and add different restrictions.

The only difference that I can see is that in the Domain Name column the unlimited users are listed as Unspecified rather than domain.sch.uk as with all the other users.

Can anyone suggest what might be wrong here?

We're running 7.0.131.61 on Server 2008.

Thanks.

hi

we use pmp as well - have had something like you are having now but my issue was / is that with everyone having 50+ AD groups it can give the students unlimited balance but i check it most days so its not a major issue to pop the new students in to the right groups on PMP

if you get stuck, email support they are very good, i have one of them on msn so we some times chat about issues when we have them.

they work with us when we highlight an issue which is good as well and have been talking about card reader option for pmp.

My name is Allen Giebel.

I am in charge of the technical support at SoftwareShelf.

This issue is corrected by adding a Domain\admin user to the Print Manager Plus service in the Windows Services area

Next, Go to the PMP Admin Console

Check on the User Group Defaults Tab and make sure all of your groups an enabled.

If they are correctly set, they will have color (as opposed to grayed out)

Next, go to the Users tab.

delete all the user accounts that are “unspecified”.

The users will later print and be added to any enabled groups of OUs as you have set restrictions.

Please email [email protected] if any further troubles occur.

Thanks,

Allen Giebel
