ranj Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 Hi just got a question on ghost licencing last year my predeceor purchase ghost licences for our 220 machines. Its the symantec ghost solution suite In LIC EDU band A. Now on the licence sheet, its doesnt have an end date. Does that mean that licence doesnt have a time period and the only time i need to renew it is if i purchase further machines or have I got my wires crossed Appreciate your feedback with thanks
ChrisH Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 Does it say how many machines it covers? Just those 220?
ChrisH Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 I would say then that there wasnt a time period but you will need a licence for each new machine you buy. The bands are probably price of licences for bulk amounts eg band A might be a certain price upto 300 then cheaper if more than 300. Best people to talk to are the people you got the licences of or someone like ramesys.
SpuffMonkey Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 Ours run in perpetuity - you just add more machines as and when needed.
Grommit Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 What is a good price for a ghost license for say 200 PC's ?
SpuffMonkey Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I think we were paying £8 or £9 per unit when we added some last time.
Grommit Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 I think we were paying £8 or £9 per unit when we added some last time. WOW..! £1800.00.. I have a few queries on Ghost 1.1 or is it really 8 ? With the old Ghost before multicasting .. If we had a BSOD we got the floppy for the PC and stuck it in and it booted and selected the image to Ghost Is this still possible in Ghost 8 and above (without starting a multicast) ?.. Also in Ghost i see that when using the Console you have to have the client software active.... also if there is a BSOD or fracked PC is it possible to send an image to be Ghosted ? Or do you have to start Ghost Multicast and go to the PC

Assuming you mean Ghost8 corporate, then it should be possible. you use the Ghost Console (I'll double check that when I get in to work) EDIT: It's called the GhostCast Server, not the Console.
