GrumbleDook Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 One year on and still no joy thanks for all your work on this GrumbleDook Thanks go to EMBC staff who are constantly on the case of this, trying to get something done ... only a messenger here.
InvisibleIntellectual Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Grumbledook, This is something that we are aware of, however, some of the suggestions from Channel4 during our discussions have already been - to say the least - interesting. We are still talking to Channel 4 at the moment, and we are seeing what else they can come up with.
basicchannel Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Sorry to thread dredge, but are people still having problems playing 4OD content in their schools? For me it's the same as everyone else. Adverts play, and as soon as the content lines up it errors.
Roberto Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Still a problem for us too, basic channel. But if C4 aren't prepared to take it seriously, I'm certainly not going to. 1
basicchannel Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 OK, well I'm still going to raise it with Norfolk ICT Shared Services, but being a C4 screw-up it's probably a waste of time. You'd think they'd want to make sure educational establishments could access their content.
GrumbleDook Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Yes, there is *still* an issue with one of the 2 4oD stream providers not coding things right. This has been batted backwards and forwards with C4 and their providers, seems to work for a bit and then gets broken again. It is a recurring agenda item on RBC tech meeting and is still being chased. I'll do a round robin chase on this to see what the latest is. 1
round2it Posted February 27, 2012 Author Posted February 27, 2012 4od seems to be working at the moment on yhgfl but for how long?
basicchannel Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 It's worked once for us, and that's when I tried it for the first time in Chrome. Sometimes is doesn't even play the ads, but it usually gets to the programme sponsor and then quits.
JJonas Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Just been asked about this by a member of staff. Can Edugeek not lobby CH4 to get it sorted?
