  1. Hi Art, I am sorry that you had the experience that you did, it certainly wasnt my intention as the Solution Architect to hinder the end user. With regards to support, I will ensure that they are aware of the proper procedures to escalate (if your call had been unable to be dealt with by them it would have come to me - eventually). As I am sure you can imagine, not all of the support staff have root access to the servers to fix any issues and it is rather a new technology to Synetrix/Capita so there have been some teething problems (though I have been running my own hosting company for around ten years based around it and had very few issues, it was also the reason it was chosen - other products were just not cutting the mustard). I would ask you to continue trying the hosting, and if you have any issues feel free to contact me directly John
  2. Hi there Has this been dealt with? John
  3. Hi There I am the Architect for OHISP cPanel - can you drop me a PM? Thanks
  4. Ummm I think its safe to say I work for Synetrix I put together the cPanel solution ..... We already have one or two schools with accounts on the cPanel solution, and I have to admit it looks a lot faster than the Plesk solution (my views - nobody elses!)
  5. Or you could opt for a change to cPanel ..... which supports it out the box
  6. Hi Andy, Can you PM me your IP Range, Establishment Name eg YYY999 and whether your on PCF or LCF? Thanks
  7. Hi Synesthesia There is a piece of work ongoing to change the "workarounds" that were put in place where sites were put in default blocked lists to put them in their respective lists - theres no ETA for when this will be finished, but as I understand it - its still ongoing. Thanks
  8. youtube and facebook are part of "Social Networking" category, though due to a "workaround" they were placed in "Matrimonial Sites" which appears on the System Wide Block List - therefore that takes preference over your local Allow/Deny lists Source: I did the work on the Netsweeper Upgrade
  9. Grumbledook, This is something that we are aware of, however, some of the suggestions from Channel4 during our discussions have already been - to say the least - interesting. We are still talking to Channel 4 at the moment, and we are seeing what else they can come up with.
  10. Cool ... glad to hear theres some requirement for it out there - unfortunately I cant say too much for fear of being lashed with wet noodles but suffice to say your comments will be fed back (though Grumbledook may have heard about this already)
  11. As an aside - how popular would a linux web hosting platform be within EMBC? Just curious yanno
  12. Sparkeh - PM me your netweeper userid and I will look at your account for you
  13. Willot - I am aware of an issue, but I am having issues tracking it down as the proxies are all built from the same source, etc, the only thing thats different within them is the IP Addresses (I deal with Netsweeper and DNS for 1C1N). I heard about an issue with the edugeek site today, but I was able to surf through all the proxies and didnt experience the same issues. If you have some times/dates, etc I can look into it further and see what I can come up with.
  14. Hi there Willott, this was an issue corrected by myself last week - if your still having issues please feel free to email me on here.
  15. Would any of you be interested in filling in a survey for me (its not for work, I own my own hosting business and I am asking varied questions!). Its anonymous and your answers wont be used to form a coalition with anyone Web Hosting Survey Thanks in advance folks
