Photo Address Labels

Hi,

 

Special request came in today from a member of support staff:

 

They would like to print a selection of photo's onto address labels. However, they used Word, and they had to resize all the images to fit the address label size. Is there anyway that a group of pictures (possibly using something else) could be automatically resized to fit a set of labels, without having to resize all the pictures manually to fit?

 

Your advice and opinions please!

Why don't you batch resize the images to the size needed before importing them into work?

Have you considered doing it in Access? Add all your addresses to a table, attach the relevant photo's to the table then create a form laid out and sized according to your labels, Access will fit the picture to the picture box you add and job's a good-un.

 

If the photo's are from Sims, I have a database set up that will download details from Sims in to an Access table ready to print, let me know if you want a copy.

Yes, but I would really like to not be involved in the process, regarding batch resizing of images using Irfanview... The member of staff has quite basic ability, which is why they came to see me to start with.

 

Interesting point about databases, but I would rather try and keep it simple as possible. It is not student photo's either, just some pictures of food, which need to go onto labels. It is for the Food/HE Dept.
