I've been asked to evaluate a piece of software called Penfriend Mobile. SEN software on a USB stick, apparently will run from the stick and not install on the machine. The intended user has a mandatory profile which is fairly well locked down.

Does anyone have experience of this software and could advise me, please?

I've used it, although not the USB version. What is it you want to know? It is sits ontop of Word and allows users to create their own "dictionary" helping them with words they have trouble with. Can be used with audio and once a word is stored you can select it from a personilsed bank and it will be inserted into Word.

I would imagine the only issue you would have is ensuring that you allowed the program to run from the pen drive. I dont actually like this route as it's far too easy for the USB stick to get lost, especially with the type of user it's designed for.

Thanks Penfold I wasn't sure myself about the USB, but parent is offering to buy it. The trouble is that the user is not singular as in the user account is for the whole class - Primary School so pupils don't have individual accounts.

Just wondering if downloading the trial would be a good idea or not.
