noah Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 We have a problem, all of our machines are switching on in the morning, but we are unable to establish what application is activating the WOL! Any suggestions how to find out what is trigging WOL?
vikpaw Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 could be wake on ac? or maybe the switch is being restarted and thus causing a lan signal? (if that can even happen - though i thought it needs a specific bit of code with the mac in it.)
teejay Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Use wireshark to track where its coming from WakeOnLAN - The Wireshark Wiki
BandyQuill Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 sounds like its got 'power on after fail' we used to have the same problem here, the computers would be turned off, then 30 seconds later they would think the power had failed then turn back on again... just disabled it in the bios and the problems stopped...
alan-d Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Have a look at scheduled tasks on the server.
K.C.Leblanc Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Oh bother, we started waking stuff up every morning. I knew there was something I should have siwtched off before I left.
