source for socket 478 motherboards

Hi does any body know of any places that can supply socket 478 motherboards. We have used up all our spares units and are struggling to source any more.

Our boards are intel so if some knows of any place where we can find some of these boards, i would be extremely greatful (helps in ghosting) BUT we will be able to make do with alternative brands

Bluepoint (http://www.bluepoint.net) who are based in MK - and we use for peripherals - have some on their site. They're due some AS Rock Skt-478 P4I65G boards in shortly, but at £29.65 (+VAT) they're not cheap...

I should also add that they do Intel D845GERG2 Socket-478 boards at a whopping £57.95 a pop!

I bought some of these boards from ComputerCommodities.com. I was struggling to find some also. Plus I needed specifically microATX.

If its the former we have plenty of spares

If its the latter we will have some spares but probably only 1 or 2 now

I would get a different one but I dont want an as rock cos I heard bad things about them and if I upgrade to one that has PCI E then I have to upgrade my graphics card, ram, cpu etc etc and I would much prefer to just get an iMac then go through all the upgrading again.

 

I basically just wanted a motherboard that would be able to use the RAM and graphics card and cpu I have.

If it's just to use your existing stuff it wouldn't be *that* bad.

 

And by the way- you*do* know who ASROCK are a spinoff from...

So buy an ASROCK and get to use your hardware (read: it'll at least work). And from what I have read they really are pretty good for budget level motherboards.

I have an AS Rock motherboard on my PC at home. It's 4 years old (yeah ok, so I'm behind with technology, but my Athlon's plenty for home use), not a jotting problem in all those four years. Benchmarked pretty well too, IIRC.

 

Built the father-in-law a PC and picked up another AS Rock, despite his best efforts that too is still going strong...
