Yeh they REALLY REALLY need to balance the skill/lvls that get into games more.

I play it and find that once you get a few hours practice in you can avoid the instant death from starting. But I do agree they need to do something with balancing skill levels and ranks as i can often end up playing against some of the top ranks, and then can end up playing against some really unfortunate beginners.
