I might just crack yet and use Linux! The fact is we are so Windows centric here I'm not too keen introducing non-Windows without a good reason.

 

@Ben, I hope the SAN recomposed itself. Nothing too serious I hope. Last time I had a SAN have an hissy fit the school was without servers for half a day :o

 

The issue with my SAN is currently being investigated it was only being used as file store for testing vm's and was going to be file store for backups.

 

Backups were running to a terastation but that has just killed another drive this morning so it hasn't been good so far.

UPDATE: Okay following all the various bits of advice and starting again I have...

 

Server: Windows XP, No Firewall, Static IP, Latest WAMP Server (not XAMPP) and Xibo Server 1.03

 

Client: Windows XP, No Firewall, Xibo Client 1.03

 

Result: Success :D - it works, now I can play witht he layouts and see if this can replace our OneLan an Powerpoint displays!
