Server IP Conflicts

Has anyone noticed that workstations are still hanging onto their home IP Addresses?

 

I would come in in the morning to find that one of my File Server / DC / DNS Server had a IP Address conflict with another device. Found the offending laptop but couldn't do anything with, also the comments on here didn't help. She ended up not taking it home as it caused problems for her.

 

Next a dedicated DC had the same problem, ignored it as I couldn't find the solution to the roblem...even though I knew the laptop.

 

Now this morning I have another IP Address conflict from another laptop on my DC / DHCP Server.

 

 

Anyone got any ideas

Are you servers on Static or DHCP ip address?

Der....static. why would you have a server on dhcp? even if its added as a reservation!!

The IP Range of the servers is 192.168.0.x and the DHCP Scope is 192.168.1.x to 192.168.4.x

Whats your subnet mask?

The subnet mask is 255.255.0.0
