Google front End Redesign?

Seeing news about this all over:

 

Check the Redesigned Google (With Always-Visible Sidebar)

I tried pasting the code in to get the 'new look' but it didn't work.

 

I guess it won't work on the .co.uk domain?

 

However I can't see a great deal of difference except [big] buttons that are blue.

 

What do you think? Do you like it? Will it be an improvement?
