A tad moist here in Kendal!!!!!:eek::eek:

Called back home at 11.30 as danger of flooding. Got here just in time, water about an inch from coming through back door. River burst its banks in middle of town and roads horrendous. School closed by 2pm and students and staff sent home.

Really bad just a bit futher North at Shap. Took me nearly 2 hours to do a 20 min drive due to every turn I made the road was flooded.

Oh dear :(

I hope you and others in the area are OK after this. Good luck!

We've got off lucky here in Preston, unlike just up the road in Cumbria. Almost zero rain, with little to come (I hope). I was lookign at doing a weekend in the lakes staying in Keswick and a couple of other locations in a couple of weeks time, but judgeing by the pictures on the news this evening there arn't going to be that many dry places left!

Looks pretty grim up north. In the BBC article about flooding in Cockermouth even says "Police are also advising against fell-walking in Cumbria."

Seriously, would anyone consider fell walking in this weather?!

Even the outdoor enthusiasts with the lowest IQs will probably have worked out that staying at home is the better option this wekend!
