USB Memory Sticks

I’m having problems opening image files on memory sticks or copying other files to and from them. Only affects our HP pc’s the one that seems to be affected most is d7800 but we do some times get glitches with other models. 7800, 7700, 5150. Keep getting read write errors say disk full or not accessible. When view contents of stick you can see a thumb nail of the file but when you try open it you get a red cross in the middle of the screen and it won’t open it tried reinstalling USB drivers does not seem to make any difference. It happens both under admin and user accounts. Any one got any ideas

have you used them in a vista machine and not removed them safely? we had an issue with usb drives (pens & hard drives) as they were just being pulled out rather than safely removed and it stopped them working properly ir being read etc.

All the machines are running XP Pro so I dont think it applies to us, but will have a look anyway.
