What's running on port 2323? Also what software is the machine auto starting, especially anything which other machines are not autostarting?
Michael Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 Have you scanned for spyware or checked any scripts running at logon?

The machine is a stand alone pc running xp pro and has no real software installed upon it apart form office, itunes and nero. From what I can see there is nothing running on that port.

Guest richard_s Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 what registry keys you dabbled with and also what about checking local security policy on the computer in administrative tools ? HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microso* ft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet* Settings "ProxyServer"= "ProxyEnable"= "ProxyOverride"= I have also been through the local security policy and there is nothing there that shouldn't be.
Michael Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 I would have a look under these for bad entries: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
matt40k Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 Could try removing everything in: C:\windows\system32\GroupPolicy
