Dom_ Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 More of a do you do it than a how do you do it... But do any of you run your own radio stations? If so, did you use this company (http://www.schoolradio.co.uk/)? Any ideas at cost or other solutions appreciated! Dom
SteveBentley Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Your first decision is what you really want to do and how you define "school radio station" - you can go from a glorified podcast repository to a fully kitted out studio doing live broadcasts either via streaming or hard wired speakers strategically placed around the building.
Sylv3r Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 We started a school media team a which included the creation of a radio station (mainly podcasts) and video footage to go on the plasma screens around the school. The students really enjoyed it at first and it last a year or so before the students left school or moved into exam year groups and the group folded. A lot of staff time will be needed to boss it as well as checking all content is appropriate before it goes 'live'.

Similar here - the member of staff who wanted to play with it all left - and it all folded - waste of money & time.
