Hi there, our Finance Manager has asked if it is possible for me to automatically force FMS users to change their password every half-term, or approximately 60 days (I guess like a password policy in AD).

At the moment they change their passwords manually but he would like to be able to guarantee that this happens for all staff regularly, and write this in his security policy.

Is this possible?

Thanks in advance!

I know it's possible to integrate Sims and AD, so Sims would use AD rules when it comes to changing or resetting passwords. I don't know if it's possible to do this with FMS. I can't say I've ever read anyone on here doing this, but you never know. I like to be proven wrong ;)

Pretty sure trusted logins for FMS isn't supported. Most of the "work" as it were is there, it's just not finished.

You could go into SQL Management Studio, download the Express if you don't have it, http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=C243A5AE-4BD1-4E3D-94B8-5A0F62BF7796, logon as the sa user, select Security, then Logins, select the user, should be fms_FMSNAME and right click it Properties, then tick the box for ensure password policy or whatever.

I would say create a new FMS user to test this first.

If the above doesn't work, just set yourself up a recurring task to reset the passwords manually and email it to them! You can't have that many users. We only have 6.
