Interesting argument, doesn't make me feel sorry for the staff though. The postal market is changing - Royal Mail has to change to fit in. Especially before 2012. It is simply a case of change or die. Every other business in the country knows this when things in their industry changes, and it is just part of life. Look at IT jobs - Computing magazine reported at one point a few months ago that due to the changing priorities in the finance industry, 10,000 IT workers were being sacked per week.

 

People lose jobs, other companies create jobs. Life goes on.
