Felsted School requires a full time network manager to manage and develop its existing network.

 

You will have excellent time and project management skills with the ability to deliver to deadlines. You will also possess first

class communication skills together with some previous experience in team leading roles.

 

You will be an expert in infrastructure development, maintenance and support with an overall understanding of IT infrastructure and applications with particular skills in UNIX (preferably FreeBSD), LDAP, Samba, Apache, BIND, 3COM/Cisco or similar network hardware, Windows Server 2003 and SQL Server 2005.

Felsted School has a pretty amazing history in its use of IT - it was well ahead of many (most?) other schools. You can find out more about its history if you look up Christopher Dawkins who ran IT there for many years.

 

I think it would be an excellent place to work (and I'm pretty sure they'll pay whatever salary they need in order to get a really good NM)

I also know it to be a good school. One of those that you have to do well in your 11+ to get into.

Turns out no-one was appointed and they are re-advertising with a higher salary.

 

This school is seriously particular in getting the right person and are willing to pass on others who would be good ... but they are willing to pay for the spectacular it seems.

Well the school fees are around £25,000 a year.

Yep - I think that shows that they really want someone at the top of their game and really know their stuff. I'm not ashamed to admit thats not me (even if I would love that salary!) - at least not yet
