Surely if you just blocked *.facebook.com (or .*) they would all be blocked automatically?

Same here, 'facebook.com' is blocked by websense, you don't even need to put * at the beginning, if you block the domain with no 'www' before it, it blocks all variations.

maniac - and that is how a -proper- web filter should work Worth pointing out that HTTPS filtering will block most "URL tricks" but not all - it is useful in that case to be able to decrypt HTTPS on the fly. Either that, or use an "https whitelist".

No, I mean variations relating to that Top Level Domain like Welcome to Facebook | Facebook and m.facebook.com - There's no way of wildcarding a top level domain in Websense as far as I know. If you put facebook.* in it ignores the end bit.
