What do we all think about the new stuff from Apple?

The Magic mouse looks awesome, may have to upgrade my iMac. 27" is insane!

I hate to say it, but way too overpriced! I love the OS, like the designs and the iLife software is just brilliant and can't be beat on any platform. But £499 for an entry level mac mini - they were £399 once - and £949 for an entry level iMac - they were £799 once - is taking the buscuit.

I believe Apple now need companies such as Psystar to provide healthy competition in the market place. I'm now definately rooting for the underdog to win that court case!

21.5" or 27" screens for imacs?! As they are a staple diet for schools who buy Apple stuff, I can see this being an issue! They're just too big for the desks.

With the class densities we have here, the max screen size we can realistically fit in is 19". Any bigger and it'd just not fit.

21.5" is the perfect size imo. 20" was starting to feel a bit small. ;)

27" sounds enormous. But it's probably ideal for serious video editors and CAD work.

i do think the mac mini is somewhat overpriced. hasn't represented as good a value proposition as the imacs which have become very popular in schools. Much to the chagrin of the haters. :D

I think a 27" imac would be mint, especially with a Quad Core + 16 Gb of RAM. But hey, don't have that type of money and have no use for it.

The magic mouse look quite impressive aswel.

I just ordered the new magic mouse so should be getting that near the end of this week - looking forward to it :D

apparently you cant control itunes with it ( least not yet )

Why can't you control iTunes with a mouse

It supports coverflow and you can scroll through it using two fingers on a touch pad.

last paragraph in the above article

Finally, the Apple mousing preferences don't allow you to reassign the action that happens when you swipe. We'd love to be able to direct the mouse to open a program or advance a track in iTunes with a simple finger gesture, but as it stands, the custom preferences for the Magic Mouse only include check boxes to turn off the secondary click, momentum scrolling, and screen zoom, as well as options to alter tracking, scrolling, and double-click speed.

Yeah the spec isn't as high as the standard consumer one but does the job none the less. We had a 2.0ghz core 2 duo i think it was with 160GB HDD and 2GB RAM running at 800mhz, and also a super-drive. We got ours for around £650 each with 5 years Applecare.

Oh graphics was powered by the nvidia 9400 mobile chipset.
