Hi, We're NEARLY ready for use of windows 7. One problem we keep getting asked about: 'Is it possible to have 'Mr Haines' on the desktop folder instead of 'Dan Haines' Basically can the teachers profile folder not have their full name.... Anyone got any ideas? Thanks, Dan

I've had migranes for about 3 years now. USed to get them in clusters and would get one every sunday and monday night, lasting upto 4 days. Absolute agony. I've tried everything, Food, exercise, sleep, stress, eye, MRI scans. The lot you name it i've done it! As a final resort after getting extreme pain in my neck I saw an ostipoath, i've finished a course of 4 sessions with her and now am seeing a sports theropist to relieve the tension in my neck and back. I sit at a PC all day and drive alot so my back is constantly hunched. I always feel guilty taking time off work but everyone seems to be understanding, at the end of the day there nothing they can do about it.

Brilliant thanks guys. Looked for all the bits last night, checked it all over. And brought it Insured it last night. Drove to work this morning

stewart, when I hear the name rover that's what I think. I wasn't expecting anything nice, but U have to admit it doesn't look THAT bad! Better than my Saxo atm.
-
I was really suprised how nice it was when I looked at it, I wasn't expecting anything special but it is pretty nice. Jus the head gasket thats making me think otherwise. It could be £4 but if I have to replace that everytime it goes it's ntow orth it.
-
ah that's interesting... Apparently its the 1.8s that suffer from the gasket but not the 1.4?
-
yeah it's a petrol. I've read about the engine gasket going....

My best m8s dad is selling a 54 plate Rover 25. 49000 miles @£1600. Looks pretty nice. Loads of reviews on the net most good, some bad. Does anyone have any experience with them?
-
neither did we, but sync center on windows 7 seems to want to sync everything.....
-
WE've had a simular issue, but it only shows certain files when it feels like it. The share sometimes says disconnected...... Have you got Sync on? The GPO that stops sycronsiation on XP machines doesn't seem to copy over to Windows 7. If you turn off Sync Center (maybe at the bottom right) does this fix it?

So you setup a TCP/IP port? I've jsut tried even more drivers and still no luck. The universal print driver doesn't support 2600n. Only 2605....
-
I've tried the specific drive and the Universal Print Driver... Which one are you using? Did u set it up with the USB first? Thanks,
-
Hi, I know there are millions of issues on here and the rest of the net about this but wondering if anyone has this same issue: We have always had issues with our 2600n Printers on 2003. However after messing around with bi-directional, print processor etc they do work - all 18 of them!! However now it comes to migrating to server 2008 R2 and the problem comes back to haunt us. I have tried pretty much every driver in every installation method and still no luck. The Windows 7 USB driver crashes explorer every time I print, the vista drivers don't install. Anyone have any ideas?

We used K-Lite codec pack as it plays pretty much everything you every need to! We find that alot of the music composition software seems to take up alot of space, once the profile was 5GiG! We've use a mandatory profile now for students which seems to sort that issue. Dan

No probs.

Try windirstat. It will show the distribution of files and what folder they are in. Then you can pinpoint the folder and the file(s) causing the problem. Dan

The WDS answer file asks for language and 'keyboard locale'. I've tried so many options. I'm ignoring the imageunattend.xml for now because if I sort the first i'll most likely sort the second....
-
I've got all the bits working for WDS and followed to WindowsNetworking guide for AIK but I can't get the keyboard language to come as en-gb. I was just wondering what was better to use in the long run. we've got roughly 1200 machines...
-
If you look on windowsnetworking.com. In deploying Vista he gives a really good guide on WDS. But then at the end/with the deploying Windows 7 Series he mentions BDT.... Why can't Microsoft jsut give ONE deployment method and stick to it. Theres no 'right' way to deploy windows 7!!!
-
I have used WAIK to create the unattend files (unsuccessfuly for the language) but Apparently this new BDT 2010 will deploy the images from a network share... Meanign WDS in redundant. Also it states you can put driver files into the wim image.... Also making WDS redundant.....
-
Hi All, Just looking into setting up a test network of windows 7, we've managed to setup a few images and deploy a few images. We've got an issue setting WDS setup to regosinise any locale settings- en-GB/en-uk etc etc. The thing i'm wondering is what's the difference between MDT and WDS... Obviously we will have a base image and a few other images for staff with SIMS & Adobe etc already installed with a capture image. But whats the advantages/differences of both? Cheers, Dan

try money2school. It's brilliant they take mostly everything for free and you get money!!! It's what we use anyway. Dan

What do we all think about the new stuff from Apple? The Magic mouse looks awesome, may have to upgrade my iMac. 27" is insane! Dan
