making images fit the slide show

ok trying to put some images in the mod_rokslideshow size 950 X 250 but am struggling to do it am i missing something here. Every time i get the width right the height is twice the size i need then if i change that the width is wrong. Any help would make my day thanks

COuld this be a zoom setting in the slideshow module. Go into your module manager to check..

Thats the problem you cant resize them to fit

not without distorting them

I think you need to crop the images to the right size before uploading. It's how i did mine.

I resize images to the correct width and then crop them to the height needed.

 

I normally have to redo the crop a few times to frame the image to something that looks OK.

 

If you just resize, then the final image ususally doesn't look very professional

If it is a image cropping issue using your favorite image editor...

 

Resize using the a 'locked ratio' (or a diaginal drag) to the size you want, can only do this a certain amount before making the image look awful

 

and/or

 

using the when using the selection/crop box type in the relavent size and just drag the selection/crop box around until you find a selection you like.
