ranj Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Hi Does anyone know how I can connect to a 10.5 leopard server or client from a Windows 7 machine running either UltraVNC or RealVNC. I have tried both and I get the password prompt but then screen disappears. I have tried IP address, DNS name but same issue. If I do it from a XP client and use ultravnc it works. I have the latest versions of both Ultra and Real VNC installed. Any help would be great.

mac_shinobi Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 if you enable screen sharing in the sharing prefs in system prefs and also allow screen sharing through the firewall ( you can set a password and allow vnc users to access screen sharing sessions in the screen sharing prefs in the sharing system prefs ) obviously if you are trying to do this from one site to another and there are routers / firewalls then you will need to get relevant ports forwarded / unblocked etc Tutorial: Screen Sharing in Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5): How it works and how it doesn't | MacFixIt - CNET Reviews
ranj Posted October 22, 2009 Author Posted October 22, 2009 Resolved now, used Tight VNC instead of UltraVNC (which is what I always used) and it works. For some reason on 7 I wasn't able to access a Mac OS 10.5 client/server.
