[hosting] Drupal HTTP 404 Error

I've set up a Drupal website for the nursery up the road. It was all working great on my test server but I've had a few issues since I moved it to the new hosting that the nursery has paid for. In particular, if I try to do an update or batch image import I get a "404" error. I have attached an image to demonstrate.

 

I have done some extensive testing that leads me to believe the issue is with the hosting and not with the website, but I don't know what it is that is causing the problem. Any ideas?

ive had issues with CMSs in the past when they arent in the root of a website, in your case drupal maybe trying to get /something.html instead of /ppp/something.html

Not so in this case, ppp is a subdirectory I was testing a new install in... does the same thing with the one that's in root.

did you change the file root from the test server?

i assume this means you changed "http://your.test.server/" to "http://www.website.com" aswell?

 

I would have definatley said the problem is comming from the transition from test to actual (assuming /ppp was copied aswell and not installed on the host only)

Well my hosting company (Big Wet Fish) have come back to me with this:

I wanted to give you an update.

 

We are able to see these errors now and re-create them. However, we are unable to determine the cause of these errors.

 

All I can offer at this stage is the offer of a full refund plus free hosting for as long as you need it to find an alternative host. We can also try this account on another server or we are more than happy to set you up with a free account on another server for testing purposes.

 

I appreciate the frustration this must be causing you and I can only apologise for any inconvenience caused."

 

I'm sort of glad in some ways... proves I'm not going mad... I do have to wonder what on earth is wrong with their servers though!
