Renaming the intranet server hosting Liberum

Please help,

 

I previously had our intranet and liberum running on IIS on our intranet (intranet.domain.local). I decided to move the intranet to a new Linux server, but keep liberum on the old IIS server.

 

I've changed DNS so that intranet.domain.local now points to the new Linux server. I've added a new DNS entry so helpdesk.domain.local points to the existing IIS server with liberum. I've also changed the host header in IIS to helpdesk.domain.local.

 

Now, if I try to access liberum, I get an error message from the new intranet server. Liberum is still referring to it's old address of intranet.domain.local.

 

I've found and entry in config.asp to the old address, but changing it to the new address had no effect.

 

How do I tell Liberum that it's moved to a different address?

Thought I'd reword this to make it look simpler, (and bring it to the top again!). I wrote the above last night at home, when I wasn't thinking clearly.

 

I had Liberum helpdesk on:-

 

intranet.domain.local/helpdesk

I've changed the DNS entry so that helpdesk.domain.local now points to it. I've also changed the host header.

 

I can go to

http://helpdesk.domain.local

no problem, but if I go to

http://helpdesk.domain.local/helpdesk

, I get redirected to

http://intranet.domain.local/helpdesk/logon.asp?URL=/helpdesk/Default.asp

, which of course no longer exists in DNS, so I get a 'page not found'.

 

It seems that Liberum is using an absolute reference to the old URL. How do I change it?

I don't really know Liberum but I'm guessing ou will find a config file somewhere... try searching the contents of all the files for the string 'http://intranet'.

 

Alternatively, you could simply re-install Liberum and connect the new installation to the existing database.

I'd already tried that approach, but it didn't work.

 

I reset the DNS entries the way they were, logged on to Liberum and changed the base URL in the configuration page. I hoped there may be a way of doing it without doing all this, but it didn't take long in the end.
