Gibbo Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Is there a group policy add-in to force automatic calculations in Excel? I'm on Office 2003, the setting is in TOOLS - OPTIONS - CALCULATIONS, but I can't see a Calculations folder in Group Policy. The option is set to automatic but there are a few Excel files on the network which have been set to manual and the staff don't want to have to make the change, they want it done automatically for them.

You would have to get the office 2003 admin pack / adm templates and you should be able to use that to set whatever settings via group policy for office 2003 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=ba8bc720-edc2-479b-b115-5abb70b3f490&displaylang=en http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ork2003/HA011513711033.aspx I just googled for office 2003 adm and it populates the drop down menu with certain options ie adm templates etc so am sure you could go from there - all documented
Gibbo Posted September 30, 2009 Author Posted September 30, 2009 Yep, I've got and installed them, but there doesn't seem to be an option for the "TOOLS - OPTIONS - CALCULATION" tab Incidentally, where is the best place to install them? The MS document I read said it should be installed on the user's group policy, but in another it said the computer.

I would say users but will let someone else take over as not got access to the correct enviroment to play around with it - no read me or manual / instructions that came with the adm templates ?
