I have a Dell PowerEdge 2950 rack server running two hard drives which are mirrored.

I want to add more storage but am not bothered if the third hard drive is mirrored or not. If I purchase a drive and plug it in will Server 2008 just recognise it as a single hard drive with all capacity offered to the OS?

We have a 2850 here which we use as our main fileserver, last summer we needed to add extra capacity to it so bought 3 extra HDD and set them up as a RAID 5. I think i just used the Dell open manage software to do this, so i would guess you can do the same with a single HDD. But as i have never tried it cant say for sure.
