Anyone recognise .epm file suffix?

Had a girl bring a memory stick in (Kingston Data Traveller 8Gb) which shows just two files on it - DVREM000.epm and DVREM001.epm. One is just over 4Gb and one just under, with 900Kb spare on the drive.

Now this girl's first language is not English, but she was just expecting to see her files and folders on the stick...

My guess was that it has been encrypted but I'm not having any joy finding out how it might have happened. She has a Futjitsu laptop, but that's about all I know...

We're scratching our heads on this one - anyone have any ideas?

Thanks Gibbo - we found those links but they're aren't much help - I certainly don't think my user has been using the program it refers to... as I said she was just expecting to see her files and folders (normal school and personal stuff) on there... I asked her if she'd encrypted the contents of the stick and just got a very blank look - I don't think she even knows what encryption is!

They're not anything out of Adobe or a CAD/CAM package are they?

 

I remember being asked to open an e(xx - can't remember exactly what) file which the internet knew nothing about, but I managed it somehow by finding out what the contents of the file should be and some faffing around.
