Smartboard Pen Light flashes

Hi All,

 

I have a smartboard 530 series that has a problem with the pen tray, the red pen LED flashes in a random order, I have taken it to peices and checked for a loose connection to no avail... tried with different computers.

 

sometimes it gives brief access to other colour pens but soon goes back to RED...

I am having this same problem. I have tried changing the pens for a newer replacement and still have the problem. The red light on the tray for the ren pen intermittently just keeps flashing.

Whats odd is if I change the black and red pen around it seems to be ok.

Could be a faulty sensor in the pen tray. Try cleaning out any dust etc from the little sensor that the pen sits over in the tray.
