svp06 Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 I have a problem accross my network where internet explorer hangs all the time. Sometimes after one or two clicks sometimes after 15 minutes but it always does it. I have a mixture of IE7 and IE8. I have tried connecting a pc direct to the router and it still happens. I have smoothwall proxy but a machine that doesnt go through the proxy has the same problem. The problem does not occur if I install and use Mozilla but for various reasons I need IE. I have tried removing anti virus and that hasnt helped. Any suggestions?
alan-d Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Do you have Policy Central installed? If so search these forums for Policy Central.
svp06 Posted September 10, 2009 Author Posted September 10, 2009 yes I do have policy central. Do you think that might be causing the problem?
t_h Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 I've had a few instances of IE8 crashing a few seconds after opening it. Downloading the IE8 installer from the Microsoft Download site and then running it (basically uninstall/reinstall) fixes the problem. In my case a particular piece of curriculum software breaks it.
mac_shinobi Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 yes I do have policy central. Do you think that might be causing the problem? Yes as there was a thread on edugeek about this a month or there abouts ago and most either updated policy central ( from there website ) or un installed it
