God, all I have found so far are lenses over 100 quid, I was hoping to get one second hand for about 50..... Will have to look a bit harder...

Somebody was flogging an old film SLR on eBay a few weeks ago with a lens which would be compatible with Sony SLRs like mine.

The seller was amazed at the level of interest - I don't think they had realised that the majority of bidders were only after the lens, and weren't interested in the camera body.

A decent lens isn't a cheap thing to make, and there's a thriving second hand market for them. Photography isn't a cheap hobby!

Now thats a good point, I have an old Pentax SLR with a ton of lenses - maybe I should flog that lot and then get a new decent lens for my Digital SLR....

Or if you can get an adpater for your DSLR you can use your old lenses on it. Personally i have an Olympus OM adapter and I use old manual focus lenses. You have no auto focus and you have to manually adjust the aperture but you can get some quality glass for cheap on ebay.

I'm off to my local Jessops this weekend for this very reason - I would be surprised if my old Pentax lenses would fit on the my S1 Pro but I will give anything a go to save a few quid....
