Gatt Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Does anyone know of a supplier who can get me ~150+ PXE booting NIC's? Preferably 3COM, Realtek or Intel Pro 10/100's Our supplier cant seem to find any for less than £30 each!! I currently have 10 NIC's that are PXE boot and it has taken me a full week to image 1 room of 30 PCs! (includes the creation of RIS images for 3 different MoBo types!, and having to delete the GUID from ADUC so that the next PC the NIC goes into doesnt try and use the name of the previous machine - so i'm losing a lot of the benefits of RIS I currently have the damn SiS900's in all my PCs and they are nothing short of useless..
Altair Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 This site has used 3Com 905s for a good price. $1.79 I don't know if they can handle the 150+, but it would not hurt to ask. The 905 is compatible with the RIS PXE boot floppy.

Gatt Posted August 10, 2006 Author Posted August 10, 2006 why not use a boot disk? 2 reasons.. 1. The kiddies have destroyed all the floppy & CD/DVD drive 2. The SiS900's are not compatable with a RIS Boot Disk.. Anyway spoke with my Line manager today who has given me the go ahead to order some cards which i did - 100 at roughly £20 each!! :?
