Exchange 2007 - Some users are unable to access OWA externally although they were...

I've created a bunch of users and it's become apparent that some users can access OWA and some can't. Any ideas why? My first thought is that perhaps OWA has somehow become disabled for these users. I know there was an option in Exchange 2003 to enable/disable but I'm wondering if there is anything else I need to be aware of or check? Edited August 24, 2009 by Edu-IT

Permissions for OWA appear to be correct for these users.

Assuming it works fine for them internally but they can't use a perfect test account you create for testing, check to see if they have a common ISP?

 

What's the error? Do they get to the logon page or never connect?

 

If everything is fine on your end, I'd place my money on the end user's machine or their isp doing something daft.

What kind of error are you getting mate? Can these users access OWA internally?

Can you positively rule out user error?

 

OWA addresses and logon details can be a blind spot for some.

 

And apart from that, yeah, a bit more info is needed - at what point are they denied access?

Are they accessing OWA using SSL? If so did they previously install the 2003 OWA certificate to their machine but haven't redone for the 2007 version? (assume it's a different certificate) Check what error messages they're getting...

on the security tab of their ad user i would check that enable inherited permissions is ticked.

That should sort your problem.
