Sophos error : Could not find a source for updated packages

Just got a load of our machines (students) in the Sophos Enterprise console, installed fine but some are now showing an error 'Could not find a source for updated packages'.

 

Is this anything to do with the fact Simple File Sharing needs to be turned off for the updates to go down to the machines? As we have a problem with some machines where the simple file sharing tick comes back every reboot!

As you say Simple File Sharing should be switched off.

I have found other causes for Sophos not setting up at the workstation properly:

Workstation date/time differs from that on the server [time synchronisation not working properly and staff allowing students to use the station while staff member is logged on ]

Sophos being installed where a previous version had not been completely uninstalled.

I found that I had to uninstall Sophos and then search for files with Sophos in the name and delete them. There is also a page on the Sophos website that indicates which Registry keys to delete if this does not work. I will post it later when I have found it again.

It may mean there is a new version of Sophos and your CID isn't set up correctly for it.
