tazz Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 I have the following two "scripts" logontracker.vbs kindly shared by tosh74 This is specified in the domain group policy to record ALL logons (user config, windows setting scripts, logon) and then addprinter.cmd set in a classroom group policy to add printers according to classroom (user config, windows setting scripts, logon) Both can be run manually when logged on as a user. If set to run automatically, the addprinter.cmd will not run unless I enable "allow user group policy loopback processing" in the classroom group policy. However, when I do that, the logontracker throws an access denied error! Any ideas gratefully received. Tazz
FN-GM Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 If you set the vbs scrip to run as a logon on the users ou. Then set the other one in its own policy on the computers ou with loopback you should be fine then. Dont put both scripts and loopback in an OU that contains both computers and users 1
jamesb Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Merge the two scripts into one? You'd have to script it to detect the OU which the computer resides in, and assign printers according to that, but it should solve the problem.

FN-GM Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Good If you do it at top level with loopback the scripts will also run twice as well. Z
