Michael Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 It's not the first time I've seen problems with some of the Ciscos. If it happens again I suggest you give the helpline a call as they're able to remotely see if there are any problems. 1
Little-Miss Posted August 25, 2009 Author Posted August 25, 2009 Here's a new symptom... I've just imaged 3 machines....whilst doing it the internet stopped working. This happened yesterday but i shrugged it off as an issues at Birminghams end. Suppose i better get on the phone to them....

You think the Cisco's may be damaged? It's possible. I have seen Cisco's with electrical damage after an electrical storm. It basically fried the switch, some ports worked and others didn't, so the whole lot had to be replaced. Imaging machines should not saturate the network. By default Link2ICT leave a lot of the Cisco security switched on and it's typical that it may view imaging (due to the gigabytes of data transferred) as a broadcast storm. You can request this be switched off. In my experience it should normally just slow the imaging process down. Machines may take 10 minutes longer typically as it's filtering all the data. This shouldn't saturate internet connectivity or availability. I presume the DC is operating at gigabit?
